What is the Camera Vandal IK10 Resistance Scale?

Kamera Vandal IK10 Dayanım Ölçeği Nedir?

The Camera Vandal Resistance Scale is a rating that indicates the resistance of security cameras to impacts and external physical interventions. This resistance is expressed by the Impact Protection Code (IK ). This feature is especially critical for cameras used outdoors or in areas prone to vandalism.

What are IK Resistance Classes (Vandal Resistance Scale)?

IK codes indicate the impact resistance level of a camera. The code is a two-digit number between 00 and 10 following the letters "IK."

HR Code The Intensity of the Coup Explanation
IK00 0 Joule Unprotected
IK01 0.15 Joule Very low impact strength
IK03 0.35 Joule Light impact resistant
IK05 0.70 Joule Resistant to moderate impacts
IK07 2 Joule High impact resistant
IK08 5 Joule Vandal resistant – Resistant to impact with hard objects
IK10 20 Joule Highest level – Vandal-proof cameras are included in this class

Application Areas:

  • IK08 : Preferred in areas prone to vandalism such as schools, hospitals, indoor parking lots.

  • IK10 : Used in high-risk areas such as metro stations, sports halls, prisons.

Why Is It Important?

  • The camera is not easily damaged and has a long lifespan.

  • Increases security against sabotage attempts.

  • Provides strong protection in outdoor environments (usually evaluated together with IP protection, e.g. IP66 / IK10 ).
